We had a large birthday party for a relative in the event room. Booking was easy, the staff and atmosphere were great, the food got rave reviews, and the service was excellent. During the overnight hotel stay, service was incredibly fast, sometimes so fast it felt like staff were rushing past without much care. But I realized I never had to wait for a server or for someone to check on our table during the event or afterward at Fosters bar. Great quality and speed. Still, a quick hello or 'how are you?' from staff would go a long way.

The only reason I'm giving two stars is that the staff were pleasant. The Lodge photos on the website didn't match the room we got. It was dated, dusty, carpeted, and had damaged walls and gross, unexplained stains on the bedding. The blanket was thin, unlike the comforters with duvets most hotels use. We heard everything through the paper-thin walls, and the poor window coverings let parking-lot light in. The beds and pillows were so uncomfortable that I've never slept worse in a hotel. Breakfast was nothing special, with no hot food except microwave waffles. For the price, it felt like a low-budget motel. At The Italian Farmhouse, the portions were wasteful, both dishes lacked flavor, and my sister's pasta was enough to fill a whole box. The food took forever to arrive and wasn't hot. Our Sunday pedicures were also disappointing. We knew ahead of time there was only one nail tech and were happy to work around that, but we got the treatments simultaneously despite having booked a two-and-a-half-hour window. It wasn't relaxing, felt rushed, skipped a base coat, and included only lotion, no massage. The massage is the best part, and you'd expect it at a spa. I've had better pedicures at ordinary strip-mall salons. Save your money and go elsewhere. In less than 24 hours I spent over $500, including tips, at these establishments, and the trip fell far short of what I expected. The Common Man's reputation isn't what it used to be, which is disappointing.

The Lodge desk staff were all very nice. I stayed there because the main Inn was full. The spa had a beautiful fireplace, but the hot tub, sauna, and pool area is dated and needs a lot of work. It didn't feel like a spa.

This was an okay massage after a long time without one, but the experience was still moderately disappointing. The spa is middle of the road, not middle to high end. Hotel guests can use the pool, hot tub, and sauna, and the place needs a lot of cleanup well beyond painting. The men's locker room had about three lockers and seating for just two while waiting to be seen. The massage felt more like a very light back rub. The shower was like a molded standing tub or an RV shower, barely big enough to fit in. The women's side was similar, though there was more room to clean up.

Toni was the bright spot in our visit. She gave me a facial and was wonderful, professional, and clearly cared about her work. I hope she gets that credit. We’d planned a relaxing spa day, but several staff members were rude and unaccommodating from the start. The hot tub, pool, and sauna were closed for most of our scheduled time, and the complimentary snacks and possible lunch advertised with services weren’t available either. No one told us about the closures beforehand, and the compensation offered didn’t match what we paid or what had been advertised. Apart from the facial, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this spa.
