The front desk guy was especially helpful and friendly. He gave me a hand with bus and train routes, and made me feel at ease. Our bags were brought up really quickly, so check-in was easy. Housekeeping was thorough, too. There are plenty of places nearby, including Stop& Shop, a wine shop, food trucks, Dunkin, Subway, Wendy's, and McDonald's. We had a great stay at Grand view hotel.

Manik helped sort out my booking mistake when I realized I hadn’t reserved an extra night. He spoke with the managers and made sure I was taken care of, which I really appreciated. The price felt fair, and there’s free parking. Downstairs they have a coffee machine, microwave, cereal, tea, plus croissants and muffins for breakfast. My room had clean sheets and was cleaner than I expected. It wasn’t spotless in the way a five-star hotel might be, but it felt like a proper hotel room, not an inn or motel. I was glad it didn’t smell of cigarettes. The staff were accommodating and nice.

The front desk staff were friendly, but I wouldn’t stay here again. We booked mainly for the price and the location near the US Open, and thankfully it was just one night. The room was so cramped that the bed took up most of it. Getting around the foot of the bed meant sidestepping, and there was no nightstand on one side, so our phones and wallets had to go on the floor. We’re both fit, but someone overweight could find the space difficult. The carpet was wet when we arrived, soaking my socks. I had to be careful changing into clean ones so they wouldn’t touch the floor. The sink was tiny, with no room for even a couple’s toiletries bag. The bathroom area could make better use of the space between the sink and wall with a larger vanity or counter. The room seemed clean, though old, with peeling wallpaper. Bring your own toilet paper if you stay. It was the thinnest I’ve seen, almost see-through, so you end up using more.

Clean, quiet, and orderly, with basic amenities that suited my work trip and budget. There’s free Wi-Fi, basic TV, and service around the clock. Parking is self-serve, with no valet. A public bus stop is easy to spot nearby, with stops in both directions, one right in front and the other across the intersection. Shops, a supermarket, and takeout places are within a few blocks. Thanks to Harry for making my rushed morning checkout quick and easy. He was efficient, polite, and discreet.
