The rooms were surprisingly spacious for New York and had everything I needed to feel at home. The hotel is a block from the subway and about three miles from Manhattan. Parking is very limited, just 12 spaces, and it cost $550 for three nights, so I was glad to find free street parking. The $50-per-night deposit was refunded after 24 hours. I’d book again next time I’m in New York, though I wish I’d had a better city view.
We left after our first night, May 12, because the bed was too small and the sheets smelled as if they hadn’t been changed. We covered the pillows with T-shirts. We’d booked more than a month ahead and specifically requested an accessible room, but that wasn’t honored. We were in New York for several Dr's appointments, and had to scramble to find somewhere else to stay. I’m a senior citizen, and my wife is disabled, so this was a lot to deal with. Jessica asked why we hadn’t complained right away. Our flight was delayed, and we arrived after 11:00 PM. After checking in, we waited about 20 minutes in the lobby for help with our suitcases. By the time we got to the room, we were exhausted. We noticed the problems then, but didn’t want to wait for staff to come up that late, so we planned to raise them the next day. The hotel wouldn’t move us for the remaining four nights and offered 10,000 points, which we don’t feel was enough. As of June 3, we also hadn’t received the points for those four nights. Jessica, the manager, didn’t know she was responsible for starting the points return to my Hilton Honors account. If that isn’t the manager’s job, whose is it? We’ve been Hilton Honors members since 1990 and have stayed at many Hilton properties. This is the first time we’ve had a room with smelly sheets, and the lack of accommodation, communication, and management support was far below the comfort and quality we expect from Hilton. We won’t stay at the Hilton Home2 Suites LIC again. Regards, Al & Solange Donoso
We were a family of four, two adults, a teenager, and a toddler, in a queen studio, and it had just the right amount of space. Housekeeping was impeccable: beds made, dishes done, and fresh towels each day. The free breakfast was great too, with eggs, sausage, Canadian bacon, pastries, bagels, and cereal. It can get busy later in the morning, but we were up early so it didn’t affect us. The location worked perfectly for us. It was an eight-minute subway ride into Manhattan, and over Thanksgiving we got to a great parade viewing spot very quickly. This is easily the most kid-friendly hotel we’ve stayed at as a family. I’d recommend it especially to families. 10 out of 10!
Cal greeted us with a smile when we arrived and was great throughout our four nights. The hotel was busy, but clearly plenty of people have found this place while visiting NYC. It’s well maintained and clean, with a great shower and staff who were great. The subway is about 200 feet away, and one stop gets you to midtown. The neighborhood is okay too, and it cost at least half what comparable Manhattan hotels cost. I’d highly recommend it for a family trip to NYC.
I’ve stayed here twice on business, once in nicer weather and once after the big storm at the beginning of 2026. Both times the staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities I needed were either in the room or easy to get. On my latest trip I worked from the room for a day, and the desk setup was good with a chair comfortable enough for a full day. I also like the quiet patio on the 7th floor, a nice spot for morning coffee. Manhattan is walkable across the Queensborough bridge, though it’s a bit of a hike. Long Island is quieter than you might expect, with hotels and things to do in walking distance, so it works for combining business and leisure. My one real complaint is the meeting space feels like an afterthought. We bring our own equipment, so it wasn’t a big deal, but basic things like extension cords and long HDMI cables for the TV were missing. Otherwise, it was a great stay.
