The friendly neighborhood had grocery stores and delis nearby, and we loved the pretty kitchen. Our family of five adults stayed at La Maison d'Art for four days during the first week of December. We made breakfast there each morning before heading out, which saved time and money and felt relaxing. There was plenty of room, and Calla, Stephanie and Charles were so warm and welcoming in our communications before arrival. They even stored our luggage for free after checkout, so we could sightsee on our last day before our night flight. Our first trip to New York was magical. I definitely recommend La Maison d'Art for extra space at a great price and such lovely people. We can’t wait to return!

We stayed here several years ago and had a wonderful time. We wanted to enjoy Harlem, so we went to a music event, ate at several great restaurants, and visited friends in the village. Getting around took no problem at all, though we already knew how far Times Sq and the village would be. Stephanie was lovely, and the Gallery was fantastic. I love this place and the owners’ vibe.

They canceled my reservation and wouldn’t answer my calls. I only got an email saying it was canceled because they couldn’t charge my card, even though my credit company said no transaction had been declined. I suspect they wanted someone else in the room, but I don’t know why they did it. If your plans depend on the booking, be aware. In response to the owner: Of course I’d leave a review. You were clearly avoiding me. I called for hours before you finally answered and acted as if none of my cards worked. The card companies reported no rejected charges. It seemed like you were making excuses to find a way to cancel, perhaps because you had another guest in mind. I’ve never experienced anything like it, and people should know who they’re dealing with. You may be nice to guests once they arrive to get a good review, but this review is about the whole process, and you were dishonest from the first step.

Getting to Manhattan by subway or cab is easy, and I’ll stay here again. I loved this “hotel,” though it was really a whole flat: kitchen, bedroom, two bathrooms, wood floors, down comforters, friendly staff, and more. For NYC, the accommodations were out of this world.

I went to support a friend who was selling her merchandise at a pop-up event. The artist rendering was extremely chic and exquisite. The place is decorated so well and feels light and airy to the eye. You’ll enjoy yourself there.
