Getting around from this hotel was easy, with Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, Broadway, Central Park, and the Upper East Side all within reach. Our room on the 15th floor was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. We heard a little street noise, but it was minor and expected. Omar and Mohammed at the front door and valet were kind, welcoming, and quick to help our family of four. Room service had plenty of choices and arrived promptly, too. Hector and the rest of the staff made our NYC trip feel easy and comfortable. I had such a great stay that I’m now a dedicated Omni patron.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff and hotel service were excellent, and the midtown location made it easy to get around New York. The subway is close, Grand Central is four blocks away, and the theater district, Central Park, restaurants, and shops are all easy to reach.
The noise came through the walls so clearly that I could hear neighboring guests whispering, even with rooms physically separated. It was uncanny. I also don’t understand the four-star rating: there was no coffee maker, refrigerator, or any amenities. Those things aren’t important to me, but their absence was striking. I wouldn’t spend another night in this dump even if they paid me.
The room was clean, comfortable, and had what I needed, and the price felt reasonable for such a prime spot. Omni New York is handy for exploring Midtown Manhattan, with public transportation easy to get to. I had a great stay and would recommend it for a NYC trip.
The bellmen were the one bright spot. From the moment I arrived, I was disappointed with the service, starting at reception. I asked for water more than once, and it took two days to arrive. Then an older man at the desk gave me attitude. For what I paid, the room wasn’t worth it. This was by far the worst NYC hotel I’ve experienced for service.
