The room was great, and the location made it easy to enjoy Manhattan. We could get to the main train lines and many attractions easily, and supermarkets nearby made family meals more comfortable. We picked up things for breakfast, easy dinners, and picnics in Central Park. We’ve visited NY many times, but this was the best hotel we’ve stayed at. The staff were extremely friendly and helped our family throughout, even while the elevators were being upgraded and we needed to use them. They stayed helpful and welcoming despite the disruption. The location, room, and staff were all superb.
A great stay, with friendly staff who were accommodating. The room was a good size, and both the beds and sofa bed were very comfortable. The location is hard to beat, close to MTA subway stations, Broadway, Central Park, and Times Square. One elevator was being renovated, so we sometimes had to use the service elevators. The wait for an elevator was the only downside. Highly recommend!
The staff were professional and very nice, and the location is excellent, about a 10-minute walk from Central Park and close to Times Square. The rooms were clean and had no odd smells, but they’re really dated. The carpet looked like it might not have been changed since the hotel opened in 1996. I’d stay again only if I got a great deal, maybe 225 euros a night. If you want a luxurious feel, keep looking.
The staff were the best part of our vacation. Everyone was cheerful, efficient, and courteous, and happy to chat when we ran into them in the lifts or corridors. The front desk was especially helpful. We had a one-bedroom, two-bathroom suite with lots of room for our family of three. There were a couple of problems in the room on the first day, but they were fixed quickly and efficiently. We spent eight days at the Manhattan Club hotel and flew out of JFK during the snowstorm. Thanks for a great vacation.
The long elevator waits, musty, moldy bathroom, and poor soundproofing already made this a difficult stay. I complained about the bathroom, but nothing was done. With only one elevator operating, be prepared for waits of over five minutes. Light sleepers should expect rough nights. I booked through Agoda expecting the usual consumer-focused hotel service. From what I found in my own research into past regulatory actions and many owner complaints, this property operates heavily as an independent timeshare vacation club, with rigid internal rules that seem to take priority over guest flexibility. While I was on a phone call in the lobby, a security officer named Jesse spoke to me aggressively and without provocation from across the space. He was demanding that I move away from the arm side of a chair, while repeatedly looking at my attire in a way that made me deeply uncomfortable. I ended my call and went over to ask what the issue was. He seemed to realize he’d made a mistake, but instead of politely correcting himself, he got loud and hostile, claiming my position was damaging the furniture. The administration’s response reinforced my impression that the company is inward looking. I received a template email from assistant director of the front office Andrew. After I sent feedback, he didn’t take ownership or follow up directly. Later, a representative named Sabina called. She didn’t really listen or try to resolve the problem, but repeated a script, insisting it had already been “investigated and satisfactorily resolved” internally. She kept calling me the wrong name even after I corrected her several times, and never sent the direct contact details she promised. From my perspective, customer relations seemed designed to shield staff from accountability rather than help guests feel at ease. I strongly advise independent travelers booking through third-party platforms to look elsewhere.
