The best part for us was the view from our room. It was small and narrow, but clean, and the view was great. The rooftop wasn’t accessible, which we felt really took away from the stay, and we couldn’t relax and enjoy the hotel. We also had problems with the room amenities being broken. They weren’t fixed until we asked three times at the lobby, and the room phone didn’t work either. Staff were unhelpful, seemed untrained, and hotel management came across as unprofessional. We even had payment problems. For the high price, I didn’t feel the stay was worth it. I’d see this as a basic option for quick business trips, not a vacation or family stay. The hotel needs better communication among staff and customer service, and improvements to the facilities so guests feel more welcome.

The first time I stayed here was amazing, but this four-day visit was a big disappointment. The staff were nice, but none of my problems got resolved, even after I called. It also rained hard most of the time, so I couldn’t spend much time outside, and the money didn’t feel justified. My first room was flooded, so I was moved to another one. In the second room, the Wi-Fi, TV, and phone for calling downstairs all failed. I had to keep going down to report things. The shower also needs attention because it floods the bathroom. Less than ten minutes after I got the keys, they even asked if I’d broken something. Not a terrible hotel, but the service left me very disappointed.

I won’t stay here again. The room was tiny and had ventilation problems, and for what I paid the quality was disappointing. The bathroom’s sliding door never shut fully, and we could hear people in the hallway in the middle of the night. There were also extra fees I hadn’t noticed in the booking details: $55 per day, split between a $35 “resort fee” and $20 a day in city taxes. They give guests $20 in credits, but I still don’t think it’s worth it. I also saw charges on my account that needed checking, so make sure they’re removed if they shouldn’t be there. Staff couldn’t answer basic questions about the fees showing up on our account, and we had to follow up several times about the cruise tickets that came with our stay. This felt like a rip-off.

The room was quiet and clean, with a great river and sunset view, and it was nicely equipped. The location made getting around easy too, with hot spots within a comfortable walk and the subway even closer. We’d love to try the other side of the hotel next time for a view toward the ESB side of the city. This was our first trip to NYC, and the stay made it memorable. Everyone was wonderful, from check-in and the employee who looked after our luggage when we arrived early to the maintenance crew. Justin and another gentleman whose name I can’t recall came up quickly when the TV wasn’t working and had it fixed in no time. We’re already agreed we’ll stay here again.

The rooms are on the small side, as you’d expect in NYC, but ours had what we needed, including space under the bed for someone like me who packs half a closet. The cafe was a nice surprise too. Guests get a $20 daily stipend there, a first for me after staying in plenty of hotels, and the drinks and pastries were great. Most of all, I want to thank the hotel manager, Michelle. I raised an issue with my room, and she promised to go above and beyond to sort it out. She treated me like an individual, not just one guest among hundreds. Everyone was pleasant, including the cafe staff. And the lobby smells incredible, like walking into a flower shop. Thanks again, Michelle!
