New York Loft Hostel

I've stayed here twice, the only hotel I've ever returned to, and I can't wait to come back. It's perfectly placed for walking around, grabbing food, and seeing the dozens of murals nearby. A few tattoo studios I've been visiting are close too. The staff are the nicest and have helped me with quite a few silly requests. There's a drink and snack vending machine, an ice machine, and lobby tables for eating. Both rooms I've stayed in were very clean and had nice views. I love a nearby deli, and the staff have great food recommendations. No complaints, best stay ever.

The parking garage was easily the biggest perk. It was so nice not having to worry about finding a spot in the city. The location is good too, with plenty of food and entertainment nearby, and it's 15 min from Brooklyn Mirage, which is why we stayed. If you aren't expecting anything amazing, it's a good value. The room smelled like smoke or cigarettes, and it was very warm when we first arrived because the AC wasn't on. Once we turned it on, it cooled down fairly quickly. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but for a quick 1 or 2 night trip, I'd say the place is worth it.

The room was cozy, just as expected, and all we needed. The neighborhood was cute, with plenty of local food options, lots of vegan ones too, and the facilities were clean. Staff were quick to help with whatever came up. I'd definitely stay again.

I only booked this because my Airbnb fell through and I was desperate. The bathrooms look decent, at least in photos, but that was a little icing on a very bad cake. The rooms felt dirty, and the bed was disgusting. There was no fitted sheet: a regular sheet was tucked around the mattress, then a filthy duvet insert with holes and cigarette burns sat right on top of it, with a large sheet over that. I had to strip and remake the whole bed so I could sleep between two clean sheets. I can't understand who thought that setup was okay. Please go somewhere else.
