Dhalia and Sean were wonderful, and the central location earned this place its two stars from me. The room itself was a different story. My standard double room, C11, was so cramped that I couldn’t open the door with my medium check-in suitcase lying open. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut all the way, and the mirror had a big crack. When I arrived Tuesday night, there was a cup with a last drop of beer under the bed and two almonds beside it. Staff cleaned the room promptly the next day after I mentioned it. Still, I didn’t think the room was worth the price. A hostel seven streets away where I stayed on this trip was cleaner and roomier, despite shared rooms and bathrooms, and cost half as much. I loved the service at Square Hotel, but I’ll choose the hostel next time.
