Pointe Plaza Hotel

The hotel's location made it easy to travel between Manhattan and Brooklyn, and the rooms were clean and spacious with high ceilings. We had fresh linen every day, and it was great value. A special thanks to Guadalupe, who made our bagels each morning, shared city tips, and made us laugh. Thanks to her, we had an amazing stay and can't wait to come back. Till next time!

Our travel agent found us a great hotel, and the room was great too. Saul at the front desk took good care of us at check-in, Ms. Guadalupe made our morning bagels, yes, free breakfast, and Dora handled checkout. The rest of the staff whose names I didn't catch were great as well. We stayed from 5/4/26-5/8/26 and will definitely be back. This place won us over.

The kitchen in the room was handy for making simple meals or having breakfast there, and there are two supermarkets close by. We liked being able to leave our luggage after checkout and explore the city once more. The hotel is old and far from the city center, but it's cheap, with a bus just around the corner and a subway station 10 minutes away. This was our second visit, and much of it felt like a few years ago. The woman who checked us in around 9pm, the girl at checkout, and the smiley guy from the evening before 10pm were all friendly. They spoke Spanish, which helped. They can get you a taxi to the airport in about five minutes. Breakfast was poor, with fewer options than a few years ago, when there were croissants and you could make your own bagel or toast. They didn't clean the room after the first night, so we asked reception for towels and shower gel. The last day it wasn't cleaned very well either, though they left clean towels and we didn't complain. The TV is old and not smart, so you can't stream from bed after a long day. The wall-mounted showerhead is a hassle if you don't want to wash your hair, and they should replace it with a showerhead with stripe. It was very noisy from the street. Still, it was a good stay, and we'd choose Pointe Plaza again if we return to NY.

The front desk gentleman was lovely, and there were lots of pillows. The shower water got insanely hot, but the hotel was disgusting overall. The room was tiny, the outlets barely worked, and there was mold all over the shower grout. I can't understand all the positive reviews and wonder if those reviewers were incentivized. Any attempt to make this hotel seem decent has failed, this is way past “lipstick on a pig.” I'd tell anyone considering it to avoid staying here if possible.
