The Box House Hotel

I've stayed at The Box House Hotel for years, in a Superior, Loft suite Apartment room, and One bedroom with a balcony. Each feels thoughtfully designed, with clever layouts and features you don't find elsewhere. Comfort, function, and artistry come together in every room. For me, the hotel delivers design, comfort, safety, service, and soul. It feels luxurious yet familiar, and my stays are personal and consistently excellent. I don't stay anywhere else when I come to New York, and after trying it, you may not want to either. The hotel's art-forward style is captivating, modern but warm and stylish without pretension. It's immaculately maintained, and housekeeping keeps it feeling brand new stay after stay. The mood is calm, elevated, and welcoming, a refreshing break from the city's energy while keeping you connected. The surrounding neighborhood is safe, peaceful, and charming for longtime New Yorkers and first-time visitors alike. India Street Pier is close by, and the views of the East River, Manhattan skyline, and Brooklyn Bridge are breathtaking. Taking the ferry from there to DUMBO feels cinematic, with some of Brooklyn's most beautiful views. The staff are warm, polished, and attentive. At any hour, someone is ready to help with a smile, grace, and efficiency. It's a rare luxury to be remembered and checked on because the staff genuinely care. They're professional, impeccably dressed, undeniably kind, and hardworking. Breakfast is delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and exceptional value. A few menu improvements could make it a standout restaurant and add even more to the guest experience.

We found crumbs on the countertop and around some amenities, and the dishwasher still had used plates from the previous guests when we arrived. It could've been cleaned more thoroughly, though it wasn't too big a deal. The hotel itself is a nice little place at the tip of greenpoint, easy to reach by walking over the pulaski bridge. The interior is charming and breakfast is served daily. It's a good option if you want a bit of Manhattan swank in a less congested neighborhood.

The rooms have plenty of space, and the bathroom was nice. The whole hotel has a distinctive look, right down to the decor in the rooms, and the location worked great for us. Check-in had a small hiccup: we got a key before the room was ready, so we waited about 10 minutes while it was being turned over. No big deal.

The staff were really nice, and we enjoyed the drinks at the bar. We had a good weekend here with my wife. Our room was a decent size and clean, and outside noise didn’t come through. We did hear footsteps from upstairs now and then, but it didn’t bother us much. We found street parking easily, though I can see it being harder to find during the week. We’d stay again.
