Paramount Times Square – A Generator Hotel

The lobby had a fun atmosphere, with good entertainment at night, reasonably priced drinks, and a handy coffee shop. Reception staff were nice, and the room cleaners were amazing. The lifts were quick, though small enough that we sometimes had to wait. You can’t get much closer to Times Square. Our room was a bit small, but the bed was very comfortable. It was quite cold inside, possibly because the windows let the cold in or the heat wasn’t working. We used the blankets over the windows, which helped. The bathroom also felt dated and needs an update. There wasn’t any security, which concerned me a little, since most hotels have it. Still, it’s a great hotel in a perfect spot, and I’d stay again.

The lobby made a great first impression: modern, stylish, and lovely, and the location was excellent for sightseeing. The staff were friendly and helpful, and when our bathroom light went out, reception got it fixed right away. We were on the 17th floor and barely heard noise from the hallway, though Times Square outside was loud at night, as we expected. Keep in mind there’s city tax for tourists, and the hotel charges to hold suitcases after checkout while you explore before a flight. The room didn’t live up to the lobby. It was especially small, though it had a large bathroom, and the whole space felt dated and in need of renovation. The carpet had visible stains, paint was peeling from the walls, and mould was growing under the clear sealant around the bath. Housekeeping staff were lovely and did a good job tidying up. The hotel’s location is fantastic, but the rooms need better upkeep and updating.

The hotel held our bags after checkout for $3 each, which was a big help since our flight was late. We also used the little gym on the second floor, and it was included in the price. The lobby and bar were beautiful, with lovely Valentine’s Day decorations. It’s centrally located for everything we needed. We had a great five-day stay and no real concerns. The room was lovely and cleaned every day. The heating was a little noisy but manageable, and we had no wait or trouble with the lifts. All the staff were kind and helpful. We arrived before the 4pm check-in time, and Natalie found us a room straight away. Really enjoyed staying here, thank you!

Those heavy doors take some effort to open. Push really hard. We had to ask staff what we were doing wrong. The lobby had the busy, lively New York feel we expected, and it was quite unique. Staff were kind and helpful. When our flight home was changed, they offered us a complimentary late checkout at noon, which was amazing. The elevators were fast and clean. I think people should keep the building’s age in mind when commenting on its look. The lobby sign says it’s nearly 100 years old, so some wear is understandable. The bathroom could use a counter, but I know that’s a bit picky, and the tub could use some re-grouting in a few spots. We genuinely enjoyed our stay and would come back.
