Pendry Manhattan West

Pendry New York stood out to me most for its people. Every team member was attentive, professional, and warm, and the service was among the best I’ve experienced. They made me feel cared for from arrival through departure, with nothing seeming overlooked. The room was immaculate, check-in was flawless, and the welcome and little touches around the property were all handled thoughtfully. Every interaction showed a real commitment to guest comfort. The beautiful space is part of the luxury, but the staff are what elevate the stay. I left with great memories and am already looking forward to returning. An outstanding hotel that sets a very high standard.

The concierge was great, the location worked well, and we loved the comfortable bed, decor, and layout in our skyline king on the 19th floor. Having the toilet and shower in separate rooms, each with its own sink, was a brilliant setup. Still, for a classy hotel charging $1k a night, too many things felt low quality over our weekend. No one cleaned the room after the first night until we called for fresh towels, and when we asked, they wanted to know if it was dirty. We expected the bed to be made, trash taken out, and towels replaced. A $50 room service burger was the worst I’ve had, rock hard, bun and all, like it had been microwaved to death instead of grilled. The Pendry Bar drinks were truly terrible too. The bartender spent the whole time talking to friends and didn’t know how to stir a cocktail with a bar spoon.

The location is hard to beat, right by the train station and close to the High Line and all of Midtown. Rooms are spacious, the bathroom is nice, and the gym is good, though it can get crowded. The shower doors should open outward to keep water in. Service was the main letdown. The managers were nice, but over the long weekend the doormen never once held the outside door, even when we came in and out with bags, and often just stood chatting nearby. Breakfast service was slow and inconsistent, and the staff were lackluster. It’s a very nice, clean hotel, but the many small service misses kept it from feeling like five stars. I’d return, though I’d also consider somewhere else.

We checked in on December 2, and the team at Pendry made our stay comfortable and memorable. Luis and Violet were especially attentive, warm, and professional. At check-in, another front desk team member, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch, surprised us by upgrading us to a better room. It was such a thoughtful way to start the stay. We’ll definitely be back!
