Pod 51

The staff were very polite, dressed up, and even offered to carry my bags upstairs when I arrived or store them after checkout. I also found the lobby lounge comfy, and there's a sports bar next door if you want a pint. I forgot to visit the rooftop, so maybe next time. I wasn't sure about booking a pod, but I'm glad I tried it. The quality felt like a solid European hostel, with ironed linens, comfortable pillows and mattress, and clean bathrooms. The shared bathrooms are private rooms with a toilet, sink, and rainfall shower. The soap, shampoo, and conditioner were proper liquid, not watered down. My twin room had a basin, soap pods, plastic cups, and a towel hook, and I could set the temperature myself. No stink anywhere. This suited me much better than the Hampton Inn near Penn Station where I've stayed before.

I booked a single twin room, which had a sink in it and a full restroom down the hall. It's a hostel-like setup that keeps the stay budget friendly, and they also have lower cost multi-bunk rooms. The area is great, with lots of quick food nearby, and the subway is close for getting around. I'll recommend it to family and friends and stay here again when I'm visiting.

The rooftop helped me finally unwind after a rough start in New York, with quiet air, city lights, and the hum of NYC below. I arrived exhausted at 10 PM after my original hotel overbooked and left me stranded in Manhattan. Switching to Pod 51 changed the night. The front desk understood what had happened, helped me calm down, gave me quick options, and got me into a room sooner than expected. The room is compact, sure, but efficient, with a clean bed, smart layout, and what you need where you need it. The staff felt supportive and genuinely empathetic. For access around Midtown, the location worked perfectly. Rooms are small but clean and surprisingly comfortable. If you want a place that understands travelers, Pod 51 is worth it.

The room with a private bathroom was small, but they used every bit of space well and I had everything I needed, even the night before running a marathon. Booking directly on Pod 51's website was easy and convenient. I had to call customer service a couple of times about changes caused by my own issues, nothing to do with Pod, and they handled everything right away and kindly without making me wait on hold. Pod 51 is amazing. I'll look for a Pod hotel whenever I'm in NYC, and I'll be a regular guest.
