The room was nothing like the booking photos. There was a full-size bed instead of a queen, just one bedside table, no carpet, no hanger, no fridge, and no shampoo or body wash. It was dirty, including the wall and bed, and we had to use the bedsheet as a blanket. The lobby was dirty too, staff were unfriendly, and the neighborhood felt sketchy. Three security guards in the lobby should've been a red flag. The elevator wasn't working, but we managed to find our room. I should've read the Google reviews before booking. It's worth paying a little more for another hotel, especially if you're traveling with kids or family. We don't recommend staying here.

Even one star is too much. We arrived very late and had no choice but to stay. The neighborhood felt unsafe, and the three security guards in the lobby immediately made us worry about safety. The room was dirty and clearly hadn't been cleaned. Someone had slept there before us: the sheets were used, the bedding smelled strongly of overly sweet body spray, and the blanket was stained and unwashed. There was graffiti on the bathroom tiles, the tub only worked from the faucet with no shower, and someone had put chewing gum in the toilet. The price was very high for such unacceptable conditions. An awful stay, and we wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The staff were polite and check-in went smoothly. The location was convenient for getting around Brooklyn, and the room was clean. The Red Carpet Inn is a good affordable choice if you don't want to compromise on cleanliness, and it was definitely worth the price.

Free parking and a good location were about the only bright spots. At least it was reasonably priced and kept us out of the cold and rain. The room had a bed but no other furniture, there was no Wi-Fi, breakfast, or coffee machine, and neither the elevator nor shower head worked. It did feel a bit like being in jail. If you're coming in summer, you might be better off sleeping outside.
