Skyline Hotel

The location is convenient, and the rooms are spacious, but the decor feels dated and could use an update. Amenities are basic, and the Wi-Fi can be spotty. It's an okay option for a short stay if location matters more to you than luxury.

The beds were comfortable and clean, there was plenty of storage for clothes, and the rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. But the decor looked much the same as it did when I stayed 18 years ago. I found dust behind the bedside table, and the bathroom grout needs renewing. There were no tea-making facilities in the room, and complimentary drinks in the foyer were only available for a few hours in the morning. Most of the staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient, though one person wasn't. I reported that to the manager. At checkout we learned about a $22 daily service charge, which we hadn't been told about. The service didn't feel sufficient to justify it.

I hope they haven't ruined what used to be an excellent place. It was mint when I stayed there years ago, and a bargain for the money. The rooms were reasonably priced, clean, and had great views. Parking used to cost $20 for unlimited access, as long as you stayed at the hotel and didn't take the car out. The rooftop pool was mint too. I think it was closed for a while during COVID.

The stay at the skyline hotel was great, and I'd absolutely recommend it. The penthouse pool was clean and had a lifeguard on duty the whole time. It's also a short walk to both Central Park and Times Square. We found the room clean and nice, but the air conditioning didn't seem to work. The hotel appeared to be booked, so I thought another room would be impossible. A technician came up within minutes after I called the front desk, confirmed the AC was broken, and within 10 minutes they had upgraded us to a bigger, even nicer room. We paid only $10 a day for onsite parking throughout the stay, and the staff were super friendly at check-in. My family and I already felt the experience was going great as we headed to the room.
