The basement ended up being one of our favorite spots, with a pool table, plenty of workspace, coffee that kept flowing, and breakfast with decent options. It wrapped up at 9:30 on weekdays, a little early for me. After seven nights, we were happy with the whole place. Our room was clean, practical, and roomier than we expected, and the north-facing rooms on higher floors look out over the Brooklyn skyline. The staff were kind and helpful, and the little store had a good selection at fair prices for a hotel, not much above the nearby bodega. Getting to the D, N, R, and W trains was easy, and we loved having Gowanus Gardens just steps away. A few small things could be improved: warmer-toned bulbs, more fruit at breakfast than apples and mandarins, the toilet roll holder being closer to the toilet, and stained towels being taken out of use sooner, even though they were clean. I work at another Hilton and get a very good discount, so I can't really judge the room rate. We were glad to have the Tru by Hilton Brooklyn as our home for the week and would recommend it to a friend.

The staff were so warm and helpful, and there’s a chill playroom plus breakfast in the morning. I was on a budget and still got a room that felt really nice. They cleaned every day, and both the room and bathroom were clean, not “ghetto.” This was easily the nicest affordable hotel I’ve stayed at, and it made my New York trip amazing. Thanks for that!

The room was quiet, and we liked how quietly the heating system worked and how easy the thermostat was to use. It was also taken care of daily. The hotel is close to the subway at 4th and President St and not far from picturesque Park Slope. Breakfast was great: fresh fruit, yogurt, pancakes from a machine, hot sausage, bacon, eggs, and a good range of creamers and dairy-free milks for coffee and tea. There’s a microwave in the lobby, while the mini fridge is in the room. Ice and water are in the basement where breakfast is served. They say hot coffee and water are available for guests around the clock, but in the evenings the coffee often wasn’t hot and wasn’t refilled consistently. We loved the Not Soap, Radio lemon sugar body wash, hand wash, and lotion so much we ordered them for home. The dispensers are difficult to squeeze, though, especially for someone like me with hand arthritis or weakness. The toilet paper holder is also an odd distance from the toilet. Still, we had a very nice stay.

Amanda was so kind and gave us great tips on places to go and things to see around town. The complimentary coffee is available all day, which I loved. We had a wonderful two-night stay in this beautiful hotel. Everything was spotless, the rooms were spacious, and breakfast was delicious. Thanks, Amanda. Greetings from Poland, we’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!

Breakfast is served in a cute area with a pool table and activities. I wish I’d known about that in advance! The rooms were clean, with nice white sheets. The subway is right around the corner, and the R train goes straight to Times Square. There’s a parking garage a block away for $40 a day, plus great pizza and 24-hour corner stores on the hotel’s block. Barclays Center and Prospect Park are an easy walk. Highly recommend.
