The rooms are spacious, bright, and clean. Still, I ended my nearly weeklong stay with about ten red, itchy spots on my right thigh and leg. After I returned to the UK, a dermatologist diagnosed them as flea bites. I'd never had flea bites before. When I learned dogs were allowed in the rooms, I asked for one that had never had animals in it. The hotel apparently doesn't keep an animal-free section, but I was told the rooms, quilts, and everything else were thoroughly cleaned after a dog stayed there. I was wary because many owners let their dogs sleep on the bed, and I think this outcome reflects careless management. You pay for what is supposed to be upmarket accommodation, yet this happened. In the UK, hotels have separate areas that remain animal free for guests who prefer that. Plenty of people love dogs but don't want to share a bed, bedroom, or even couch with one. I didn't expect this to happen, and I ask the hotel to consider a policy that respects all guests and their preferences.

The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the front desk staff were kind, helpful, and welcoming. The decor is a little dated, but I'd take clean rooms, friendly employees, and this location any day. It's in a quieter neighborhood, with lots of great little cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. You can reach all sorts of NYC sights in just a few moments. I'd definitely stay here again.

We were in NYC for a week for a medical procedure and had no other choice but to stay because nothing else was available. The hotel should make clear that air conditioning is controlled by the manager and gets switched off in the building during what they consider comfortable weather. For what this place costs, there are more updated hotels. We'll book somewhere else for future trips to MSK, and I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

For our Christmas trip to NYC, The Gardens Sonesta ES Suites was a fantastic place for my family and me. Our room was spacious and clean, and we all fit comfortably. Jiovanni Vidal was especially helpful, answering our questions about places to eat and getting around, both from the time we booked and throughout our stay. The whole staff was friendly. An easy five-star recommendation from us! 😊

The rooms are roomy and beautiful, and the service was excellent. I've stayed here once, and now this is the only place I'll come!
