The room was comfortable and modern looking, and the soundproofing did a great job in a busy city like Brooklyn, NY. I enjoyed the warm welcome from the staff, the high-floor views and the cafe up on the roof level. There were a couple of minor things, as you’d expect with a new hotel. The restaurant felt a little cold to me, but otherwise there wasn’t anything else. The Livingston Hotel by JDV Hyatt was a great place to stay. If you need parking, you’ll have to arrange it separately, though the hotel can suggest options just a few minutes’ walk away.

The room design is modern and attractive, and the clever layouts make good use of the small NYC rooms. I stayed in March 2026, during the first few weeks after this brand-new hotel opened. It was still my favorite in the area, better than the Ace Hotel, the nearby Hilton and Holiday Inn, and overall a great stay. There are a few opening issues I hope the hotel addresses. The shower only got warm-ish rather than hot, which my wife and I both found unpleasant when we wanted to relax. Water also leaked in large amounts out of the shower and into the rest of the bathroom because there was no barrier under the door. The elevator beeps on every floor it passes, and every room is close to the elevators in this very narrow high-rise. In the mornings and evenings, the busy elevators make a constant “beep... beep... BEEP... beep... beep... BEEP... beep...” I hope the hotel can get the elevator technician to disable the beeps or at least make them quieter. With those issues fixed, the stay could have been amazing.

The breakfast was really good, and the balcony had a nice view. My room was small but cozy, with a hot shower, and it warmed up quickly. I’d booked a high-floor room with a double XL bed and balcony. The mini fridge didn’t seem cold, and I couldn’t see any way to adjust it. Check-in was quick and the staff were friendly. I had the bed-and-breakfast package, but the desk representative didn’t know how it worked. The morning staff did. The restaurant felt cold, though they may still be working on that. I wasn’t sure what Perch on the top floor is or will become, since the desk representative didn’t know either. I was there on the opening weekend for Valentine’s Day, so there were a few hiccups, but nothing that can’t be fixed. I enjoyed the stay, and shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Once the kinks are worked out and the staff get more familiar with things, this could be a perfect spot.

I tend to get nervous trying somewhere new, whether it’s a restaurant or a hotel, but this place surpassed what I expected. As soon as my husband and I walked into the beautiful lobby, we felt we’d picked the right spot. The room was spacious, everything looked new and clean, and the bed and pillows were super cozy. We’ll definitely come back.
