The location is beautiful, and the elevator staff, doorman, and restaurant staff were amazing. The rest of the team seemed to forget they work in hospitality. The rooms were okay, but the air conditioning didn’t work. It was 75 degrees in our room, and the vent was blowing room-temperature air. At a luxury hotel, working AC should be a given. The food was disgusting, and it’s no wonder the restaurant was empty more than once. The nice nearby restaurants are cheaper and more appealing. For the price, the standard should be much higher. Please do better and renovate if needed. The rooms need working AC.

I had a peaceful evening at The Pierre, a real oasis in the middle of Manhattan. The atmosphere was so tranquil that I felt like a private resident, not just someone dining there. The staff were warm, attentive, and accommodating. I left the drink choices to them and asked to be surprised, and they brought me a series of expertly made cocktails. New York is known for its corner slices, but I tried the pizza here and loved its refined, delicious take. A sophisticated escape in the city.

The Pierre has the kindest, most considerate staff I’ve encountered at any hotel in New York City. The elevator operators bring a special warmth, and they might be the best part. They’re the last ones in the city. The hotel is a unique, beautifully maintained relic of old New York, and I hope it stays that way. Thanks for making our stay wonderful!

The staff were nice, and the rooms and beds were very comfortable. The main drawback was the noise. There was a loud hum from the large outdoor machinery and shared heating and AC equipment, and the in-room AC units were loud too. That’s why I’m rating it this way. If you’re a light sleeper like me, avoid staying here. Otherwise, it’s a great hotel.

Our reservation was canceled three days before arrival without our knowledge, and we only found out when we were turned away on Valentine’s Day. It was an awkward situation. We aren’t sure whether Booking.com or the hotel was at fault. There was a wedding happening, so it’s possible some rooms were double-booked. I’m leaving one star as a cautionary tale because it seems this has happened to others. The staff were courteous and helped us with our bags. As we left, one guy gave my girlfriend a rose, which was a nice gesture.
