The Ritz Plaza

The windows don't seal, so cold air comes through in winter along with street noise, including fire trucks all night from the station across the street. There have also been multiple nights of jackhammering outside all night. With so little insulation, it feels like living outdoors. Even running the AC only at night can mean a $500+ monthly bill, and the building is rated D for efficiency. A quarter of the elevators are down for a renovation they say will take two years, so there are lines at busy times. The stairs are locked and residents don't get a key. At the front desk, staff complain about packages instead of helping much unless you give them money at Christmas. The package process needs work. Security is lacking too: there's high turnover from corporate rentals and people sharing apartments, and they let anyone in without seeming to care who it is. The heater also makes random, very loud cracking sounds that can wake you like gunshots. DO NOT RENT HERE!

The one bright spot was how responsive and respectful the building management was. Still, I’d strongly caution against renting here unless you can function on an hour of sleep a night and don’t mind long elevator waits. Construction next door, right outside our bedroom window, started at 6 or 7 a.m. and continued into the night. The drilling and sawing wrecked our sleep, and I even dream about it now. The windows don't block the sound. At least one elevator was out of order, and management had blocked the stairs so we couldn't even walk down. We’d been optimistic about the gym, but although it looked good at first, it has very limited equipment and gets crowded. It isn't worth essentially $1,000 a year.

From the first inquiry through the application and paperwork, the Ritz leasing team made everything clear and easy. They were responsive and transparent throughout, so the whole process went smoothly.

The building has incredible city views, and I had a fantastic experience with Ritz Plaza and Stonehenge Management. Geraldine was a pleasure to work with, professional and responsive, and she supported me through the whole process. Rob and Big Tony at the front desk were cheerful and helpful, going out of their way during both move-in and move-out. Their warm, friendly manner made a real difference.
