The lobby made a great first impression when I arrived on a friend’s recommendation, and the Gingerbread house aka living room area was a nice place to wait while our room was being prepared. Once inside, I loved the design, styling, and furnishings, including the little touches, big city-facing windows, sexy bathroom and open shower beside the bed, plus mirrors everywhere. The first night, though, the shower handle was faulty and we couldn’t get warm water. My fiance managed a temporary fix. Maintenance came the next day while we’d popped in to change for the evening, and when we returned, the handle was apart with part of it in the sink. We hadn’t told the front desk about the problem, so I wonder if they already knew it was faulty. It did get fixed, which is what matters. The hotel and room were gorgeous, and the stay was wonderful. The Standard is an experience!

We’d enjoyed our first two visits, but this third stay at The Standard was horrible and will be our last. It cost a lot, and not a penny felt worth it. Staff were passive-aggressive, rude, and unwelcoming from arrival; asking a simple question seemed to make us a burden, especially at the dismissive front desk. Room service was a disaster: the food came cold and hard, barely edible, and the medium steak we ordered was cold and raw. The room was dirty and the bathroom filthy, which was especially concerning with our two babies. When I asked for water, the front desk rudely pointed out there were “two complimentary waters on top of the fridge.” We’d never had this issue on earlier stays, and this time it felt like begging for basics with children. Our last two stays included breakfast vouchers, and I thought that should be in their history. Asking about them got me attitude and looks as though I’d made it up. The whole visit felt hostile, unsanitary, and unprofessional. Quality, service, and cleanliness have declined drastically, and the hotel no longer lives up to its name or price. Especially if traveling with children, I’d look elsewhere. Complete waste of money.

I’d been hoping to try this hotel, and I’m glad I finally did. The team went above and beyond, and everyone I dealt with was kind and respectful. I was visiting from DC, and the location was convenient for getting home, very close to Penn Station. The neighborhood was a prime spot and the views were beautiful. I’ll stay again soon.

Everyone from the housekeepers and cleaning staff to the front desk, concierge, porters, maintenance, security, and doormen was lovely. The hotel felt like it hires for heart as well as skill, and the HR and hiring team deserves credit. Rosa was especially helpful, patient, gracious, and professional, always with a smile, and Dani was warm, attentive, and a pleasure to talk to. All our interactions were welcoming and made the stay memorable. My one small downside was arriving to find nobody available to help with our luggage. Otherwise, a wonderful stay at The Standard, and I’ll absolutely be back.

Staying at The Standard, High Line feels like more than a hotel visit. It sits right above the iconic High Line park, with striking views of the skyline and Hudson River. The rooms are sleek and comfortable, the beds very comfortable, bathrooms pristine, and the thoughtful design comes with all the modern amenities you might need. The restaurant and nightlife are highlights too: the rooftop bar has great cocktails, a lively feel, and spectacular views, while the in-house dining offers delicious meals and excellent service. Staff are friendly, professional, and attentive, whether helping with concierge needs, room service, or NYC recommendations. It’s a prime spot near attractions, shopping, and the city’s culture, and I’d highly recommend it for style, comfort, and luxury.
