Wyndham Garden Laguardia South

The staff were great, friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, comfortable, and had the basics. I stayed four quiet midweek nights and found it a good base. The mall and other shops and restaurants are walkable, including Starbucks downstairs. Try the Burmese food, it was delicious. I'd stay again. I did notice a chlorine smell, maybe from the linens, whenever I entered the room. The bed and pillows were too soft for me, and the ceiling showerhead didn't have enough pressure to rinse shampoo out of my hair, so I used the tub faucet instead.

I didn't expect much, but the stay was surprisingly good. The room was tiny but very clean, and we had a large deck just outside, shared with all the third-floor rooms and furnished with cute little bistro sets for guests. Parking was convenient and felt safe. All good, and I'd use the hotel again for Laguardia airport.

The hotel was a convenient stop, close to highways from New England and with public transportation nearby. I had planned to stay one night and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it felt. Everything seemed fresh, tidy, and new. The main gap was parking. There wasn't any on site, and they didn't offer serious guidance about options. If they'd had parking or a relationship with a nearby garage, this might have been a five-star review.

Our stay was pleasant overall. It's a basic hotel at a reasonable price, with no breakfast, though there is food in the area. There's also a computer in the lobby if you need one. The room had plenty of lights, a TV, mini fridge, and work desk. I liked the room and bathroom setup. The bed was comfortable, and there was a wardrobe, clean toilet, toiletries, and a hair dryer. It was spacious and clean. The heater didn't make the room very warm even at its highest setting, but it was better than being freezing. It got a little noisy at night, though I still slept. There were no water bottles in the room, so you'd need to buy one outside or from the vending machine by the lift lobby. We arrived very early, and the man at the counter was rude and unwelcoming when he told us check-in was at 3 pm. We knew that from the booking, but he was on the phone when we came in and looked at us as if we were interrupting. He could have been kinder and smiled. He didn't offer to hold our bags either. After I asked, they stored our two large suitcases behind the counter, and we went for lunch nearby while we waited. We didn't see him again. At checkout, two younger staff members were there, a gentleman and a friendly woman the next morning, and they treated us much better.
