Room 1001 had a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline, and the room itself was clean and very comfortable. The staff were awesome, courteous, and helpful. The location is amazing for restaurants and shopping, with an easy subway ride to Manhattan, Central Park, Times Square, the World Trade Center, and parts of Queens. Definitely coming back.

I was meant to check out Monday, but added another day because I felt so relaxed and comfortable at the hotel. I stayed Friday to Tuesday, and the staff were a huge part of why. ARIEL, SOPHIA and ALYSSA, I think I spelled their names right, sorry if not, need a raise, a promotion, and an award! I was coming from out of state and got to NY later than planned, but they kept in touch and made sure my room was okay. I was also dealing with personal things while visiting NY, and they were there for me. They made me feel safe and less alone while I was basically on my own visiting family and friends. They're genuinely good people, professional through it all, and we need more people like them in the world. The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are comfortable.

The room was comfortable enough to unwind in, and the location worked reasonably well for my visit. Service was satisfactory, though it didn’t add much to the experience. Z Hotel New York was an alright option, and I’d consider it again for the comfortable room.

The beds were uncomfortable and set extremely low, and the view through the very dirty windows wasn’t worth it. The whole property felt dirty and disorganized, from the rooms and hallways to the elevators and lobby. We cut our losses and moved to another hotel. Please don’t spend your time and money here. The sink was outside the bathroom, unlike what the pictures showed for the room we booked, which felt awkward and misleading. Its semi-frosted glass door didn’t lock, and a full-length mirror across the main room meant people could see or catch the reflection of your silhouette while you used the bathroom. There’s no lounge or sitting area anymore, even though they still show pictures of one. Under the chandelier was a dirty area where you couldn’t sit, with some random snacks for sale. I tried uploading photos of the dirt, but they haven’t appeared with my review. I don’t know whether ZHotel has done something with Google to make review photos harder to see. I also suspect many of the five-star reviews are from employees who were coerced, or are fake.

The only good part was the view. There was no coffee and no amenities at all, and I had to stay an extra night because of the weather. I’ve stayed in many amazing places in New York City, and this wasn’t one of them. Never again. The room was a dusty, dirty shoebox, with a rock-hard bed practically on the floor. The elevators were out for more than 24 hours, and our key card kept deactivating, so the front desk girl had to reactivate it twice. Our neighbor blasted music and smoked weed through the night and morning. Outside, a large dumpster parked in front of the hotel nearly smashed into my brand-new truck. My husband had to shovel paths so we could reach the street and dig the truck out of the snow. Nobody was salting or clearing the way for guests. In the lobby, a guest was screaming and cussing out her Uber Eats driver, which made things very uncomfortable.
