Garrison Inn Boutique Hotel

Tea time with cookies was such a sweet touch, and the service felt warm. We loved the cozy rooms and the Garrison Inn’s central spot in town, which made it easy to walk everywhere. Hearing about the history of the inn and Garrison made the stay even more special. I’d absolutely come back.

The room was immaculate, quiet, and comfortable. The kitchen had already closed, but when I didn’t want to impose, the chef kindly offered me some toast. I’ll definitely come back. Thanks for everything, and excellent job.

What keeps bringing me back to the Garrison Inn is the staff. Jody, Kim, and Stu are wonderful to deal with: kind, attentive, flexible, and accommodating. They make a real effort to keep me comfortable and have gone above and beyond for me more than once. The hotel itself is unique, with a charming historic feel. Parts of it are like a museum, almost as if you’ve gone back in time. Downtown bars, restaurants, and shops are all within walking distance. It’s my favorite hotel in my favorite town, and I’ve enjoyed every visit, for both business and pleasure. A couple of years ago, I brought my cousin from Portugal. He travels the world and has stayed in some very high-end hotels, but he loved the place, the staff, and the whole experience. When he returned last year, we stayed there again. He says that whenever he comes back to the US, he wants to visit Newburyport and stay at the Garrison Inn. To me, it’s by far the best place to stay in the area, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

We booked rooms for friends for my daughter’s wedding, and my room had bedbugs. The wallpaper was coming off the wall in the bridal suite, another room had an ant infestation, and yet another had no A/C. One star for a hotel in a great location.
