Newcastle Inn

The location made it easy to walk into Darmiscotta and take a quick drive to Wiscasset. We stayed during the Darmiscotta Pumpkin Festival, and it was a lovely visit. The grounds have water views, and there's a big deck plus a few shared living spaces. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and attractive. Breakfasts were delicious, service was very friendly, and it was so quiet we barely heard anyone else. I'd happily stay here again.

We first stayed three years ago, soon after they opened, and this visit was just as lovely. The room was comfortable, with Valentine's chocolates waiting for us, and breakfast was imaginative. On Valentine's Day they even served a little strawberry shortcake as an appetizer. Liz and Carolyn were incredibly welcoming. The inn is a beautiful period home with spectacular views of the Damariscotta River. It's also a short walk across the bridge to Damariscotta, where there are shops, great restaurants, and a bookstore. We'll be back.

We found plenty of spots to read, play a game, or take in the Damariscotta River view from the spectacular porch. The Inn is within a half mile of Darmiscotta, an easy walk. From the warm welcome to breakfast and the quality of the products used throughout, everything was top notch. Carolyn and Liz were gracious hosts who made us feel like family. One of the best stays we've had, and our new go-to Inn on the Pemaquid Peninsula. There was nothing we wanted improved. Thanks, ladies!

My wife had a wonderful one-night getaway at the Newcastle Inn. Carolyn was a fantastic host, warm, helpful, and attentive, and my wife really appreciated the hospitality. The inn was welcoming and comfortable, and worked perfectly as a home base for the area. She'd absolutely stay again.
