Lupine Inn Red Lodge MT

The coffee was good, but breakfast was just small store-bought muffins, white bread for toasting, and cereal in the containers. Some rooms smelled bad, and there was black mold in the shower. The rooms are basic and the beds need replacing. The place feels stuck in the 90s, with most of the lights kept off, making it dark and drab. Even the workout room equipment looked like it was from the 80s. It needs a complete remodel to bring it up to date.

There was no elevator, and both the pool and hot tub were closed. We didn’t get any continental breakfast either. Still, we were charged the same price as if the hotel looked like the pictures. Very disappointing after traveling so far.

The rooms were typical, and the bathroom was clean, but we wished there were chairs outside where we could sit and talk about the day. The location was about four blocks from downtown, which is fantastic. We booked because it was one of the last places with openings during a big Musical competition in town. Breakfast was awful: powdered creamer for coffee felt insulting, the tiny banana nut muffins were barely bigger than a walnut, there was a handful of cold cereal in each container, some bread to toast, and machine juice that looked like tang. Don’t expect to eat well here. They were ““ switching something in their TV system, and half the hotel TVs didn’t work. I’m guessing plenty of people didn’t complain. Two guys in our group had to switch rooms just to get a working TV. Unless there’s a way to find out whether anything has changed at the hotel, I wouldn’t suggest staying. It’s not exactly a dump, they just didn’t seem to care enough to provide much for guests. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I hope they change how they do business so no one else is bothered by these things or has a bad stay in red lodge.

The people were nice, and we got a good night’s sleep. The rooms are a little dated, but for $124 it’s a good price. Other reviews complain about breakfast, though at that rate, it’s a $124 hotel, not a $500 one. If you want a really good breakfast, go to one of the restaurants on Main Street.
