For a quiet night alone, the price is acceptable, but I won't be back and wouldn't recommend the place. The guy at check-in was barely warm, insisted there could be no visitors, even one other guest, and scrutinized my California State Real ID, questioning whether it was authentic and asking what it was. In contrast, the gentleman who checked me out was very flexible and efficient. They require a room check before returning the $100 security deposit. I also just remembered seeing two cockroaches, one in the drapes and one in the shower/tub. Stoner brain 😆. I give credit where it's due, but the place needs a little work.

You should have gotten a phone by now, unless you're being held against your will. I'm serious, I'm about to call the authorities and report you missing! Call your mom to get my number! Xoxo

Absolutely the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in. Cockroaches were crawling around, and there was no hot water at all. I seriously considered sleeping in my truck in the Tenderloin rather than staying the night here. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

The Admiral is a pleasant place to stay, with clean, beautifully decorated rooms and friendly, helpful staff. It's an older hotel, and the elevator takes a bit of getting used to. The neighborhood is pretty awful and noisy at night, which is a downside, though there's also great food, dining, and things to do nearby.

There were plenty of cockroaches, and I didn't see anything to keep them away. When I opened the desktop, they scattered everywhere, and the same happened with the dresser. I was there for two weeks and eventually had to ask for fresh sheets. The room was cleaned then for the first time in 16 days. The elevator only works about half the time. It's a two-door setup, and many tenants leave a door open, so at 61 I had to climb six flights to my room. The manager said keeping easy access to the different floors wasn't his responsibility, and management wouldn't take responsibility. The location is very nice and convenient, with a good price for what you get in San Francisco. The staff are friendly and informative. There are also plenty of homeless people around.
