Cova Hotel

We stayed three nights and were impressed with the clean, spacious room, the breakfast, and the shuttle. Breakfast was included and better than any other free hotel breakfast I’ve had. The complimentary shuttle was always on time and saved us a lot of money. The neighborhood made some people hesitant, but we had no problems. We hardly needed to walk beyond the courtyard, and guests have to swipe their key to use the elevator. The safety measures helped us feel secure. The staff were amazing, and I’ll definitely stay here next time I’m in the area. Loved it!

The only part that bothered us was the neighborhood. It felt unsafe leaving the hotel, with homeless people all around. Inside, the staff were very helpful and gave us great suggestions for things to do. Breakfast was included with a good number of choices, and the free wine at the rooftop bar from 5 to 7 was a really nice touch.

The neighborhood isn’t great, so I’d strongly suggest taking a taxi or rideshare instead of walking. There’s no barrier or security to stop people from coming in, though the area itself isn’t the hotel’s fault. Even so, I’d recommend staying here. The rooms are clean and modern, and the hotel has a historic feel. Staff were friendly and helpful. There’s free breakfast on the rooftop until 10 a.m., and the rooftop bar has a great view and complimentary wine at certain hours each day.

The room service experience is why I wouldn’t come back. We ordered food for the room and paid over $50, plus left a big tip, only to discover two items were missing. It came in a bag, so I didn’t notice at first. What did arrive was wet, leaking, and undercooked, so we threw it away. When we called about the missing food and overcharge, they kept telling us to call back tomorrow. We called around six times, spoke with four people, and got hung up on once. We never got a refund or any resolution. It felt like we’d been robbed, and I was upset by how they handled it, or didn’t. The free breakfast each morning was probably the best part of our short stay. It was decent, though not great. The area didn’t feel safe, but you should be okay if you don’t wander around. The parking garage felt like a scam because the prices seemed to change whenever we asked. The rooftop view was gorgeous, but the bar was never open during our stay. Our room was reasonably clean. The TV had no decent channels and the remote didn’t work; the hotel gave us new batteries, but there was still nothing worth watching.
