Becks Motor Lodge

We had a very good stay and would highly recommend the place. The staff were cordial, professional, capable, and flexible. Parking was included, free, and easy to find, which is hard to beat, and both reserving and checking in were simple. Our room was clean, orderly, and roomy. It had only the basics, with no fridge, closet, or iron, but that was all we needed. The bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom was modern, new, and clean, with plenty of hot water in the shower once it warmed up, though that took a while.

The little patio above the entrance was a nice spot to sit with coffee and watch people on the street. This place is worth the price and one I'd recommend. Rooms are very clean and well maintained, though we had to air ours out after every cleaning because the sanitizer smell lingered. The rooms are small but functional, with a safe and mini fridge but no microwave. There was quite a bit of street noise, though earplugs were provided. The Castro district location is excellent, with its own parking lot, several transit stops right nearby, and lots of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.

Beck’s made a great base for my SF trip. After a few stays somewhere fancy near union square, I wanted to be closer to the Castro, Mission, and other districts that feel more lived in. Getting around was easy, and when I got back, there were great places to eat, bars, coffee, and all the shops I needed to feel comfortable. The rooms weren't anything special, but they were nice and clean, and everyone working there had good vibes. When I needed to extend my stay using a 2nd card, the front desk was really helpful. Eat at Starbelly across the street!

I've stayed at over 8 hotels during the past 60 days, across California from San Diego to Sacramento, including big names like Hyatt and Hilton. Becks was easily the best of them. The room was impeccably clean, everything spotless, and from housekeeping to maintenance, the staff seemed proud of their work. Ed and Donna at the front desk were friendly and helpful at both check-in and check-out. Really impressed with the place.
