Mohammed was a star and went out of his way to help me; I really appreciated it. The rest of the staff were lovely too. I spent three nights here late last month and had a wonderful stay. The room was comfortable and clean, and lots of places were easy to reach on foot. I’d happily stay again next time I’m in San Fran.

The price is reasonable, and the recently renovated rooms are really nice. Check-in staff were helpful. But our room faced Buchanan street and stayed noisy until around 2 a.m. This is a no-frills hotel, so it should be fine if you’re okay with that and can handle the noise.

I booked a non-refundable three-night stay for a special occasion, then tested positive for Covid 42 hours into it. I called and emailed both Booking.com and the hotel. I was willing to send proof of the test, but was told it wasn’t needed. I pleaded for help and was told I should have bought insurance. As a healthy woman of my age, I had no plans to cancel until I got sick. I was charged $570 for the three nights while I was home ill. If I’d been less sick, I might have checked in and infected the staff and other guests. The manager offered the best rate for whenever we’re ready to make the trip. That sounded like being asked to spend more money, so no thanks. It’s unbelievable that a hotel couldn’t write off $570 as an operational loss. I learned a hard lesson at my age. I wouldn’t recommend the place, and my friends who’ve heard about this from me won’t recommend it either. Who wants to share an elevator with someone who may have an infectious disease because they couldn’t cancel their booking? They seemed not to care that a guest had an infectious disease, preferring to keep the payment rather than refund it or offer credit for a later stay.

Still great on a repeat stay. The rooms are spacious, super clean, and have excellent beds. The location is perfect for sightseeing and feels safe, and the parking is great too. This is the only place I’ll stay when I visit SF. Thanks for making our stays so nice.
