Courtyard by Marriott San Francisco Downtown/Van Ness Ave.

As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe the whole time, even though the area can feel a little sketchy and the walls are thin. The staff were 11/10, and everything was new and clean. It's a convenient neighborhood, with a movie theater next door, Starbucks across the street, and transit right outside. The charming, cozy lobby is set up well for coworking or relaxing while you wait for a flight. There's a lobby market open 24/7 and an attached diner with convenient hours. It's one of my usual business stays, great value, and a very enjoyable place.

The front desk team were friendly, housekeeping kept my room spotless each day, and I felt safe throughout my stay. I also appreciated the washer and dryer onsite, and having Mel’s Diner in the hotel made grabbing a couple of meals very convenient. The lobby is beautiful and comfortable for hanging out or doing some laptop work. This may be the nicest Courtyard by Marriott I've stayed in. I'm a Marriott Titanium member and stay at plenty of properties. The hotel stands out, and with upgraded linens and towels, I could see it fitting into the Design Hotels or Autograph Collection portfolio. From now on I'll pick it in San Francisco over the bigger Marriott Marquis or the Westin on Market Street. A+ across the board. Thanks for an awesome stay!

On Van Ness, the location is good, though some pretty rough areas are only a block away. The rooms are small but laid out well, and onsite parking is limited at about $50 a night. If you like authentic Hauf Bras, there's great food across the street.

The hotel is well located and the rooms are very clean. The staff are probably the best I've seen at a hotel, attentive and very good to guests. M, who works weekends, especially stood out.
