La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta South - Newnan

I won’t book with this company again. I reserved three rooms for my daughter’s wedding, intending to book in McDonough, GA. Before I finished the booking, I got a confirmation showing a picture of the McDonough hotel, and I always take screenshots. But the confirmation email was for Newnan, GA, an hour to an hour and a half from where I meant to book. I chose a cheaper, nonrefundable rate, apparently non-amendable too, because I’m not missing my daughter’s wedding. I called as soon as I saw the wrong city in the email, but they’re refusing to move the reservation to the correct city. The screenshot clearly shows the right hotel, but they won’t help because it doesn’t show the city. Even with three rooms booked and screenshots, they won’t help. In my opinion, this is false advertising. Steer clear if all they care about is their policies and they can set you up in the wrong city when you choose a cheaper rate.

The staff were nice, but the hotel felt neglected and gross. Our first room had roaches and bugs, so we moved, only to find bugs in the second room too. There were roaches in the elevator when it was working. Nothing was stocked to buy, and although room service brought towels, we had to ask for toilet paper. Our keys needed reprogramming four times, and the phone in the room wasn't connected to anything. This place needs to close or be gutted and remodeled. The photos online clearly aren't of this location.

The bed was comfortable, and the room and linens were clean. Customer service was good too. A couple of things need attention: the toilet lid was loose, the bathroom door wouldn't close, and liquid soap for the shower would be helpful.

After what happened during our stay, we've had a very poor experience trying to get help from Jason, the general manager. My husband and I came from about 4.5 hours away for his birthday weekend over Thanksgiving, and a disturbance in the room two doors down kept us up past midnight. It sounded like a couple arguing and things being slammed around. Police arrived and made an arrest. The night was basically ruined, and we both felt unsettled and could hardly sleep before driving home the next day. I tried calling the front desk afterward, but no one picked up. My husband raised it with Jason, and the response and support have been poor. He's contacted Jason several times, but hasn't received an update. It's been weeks, and this shouldn't take so long to resolve. I understand staff can't control everything that happens, and I've worked in customer service myself, but the stay and the communication from Jason were both poor. I'd never recommend this place.
