The breakfast was genuinely good and had a nice variety. Unfortunately, the room didn't seem to have been cleaned properly, with visible dirt and signs that basic housekeeping had been missed. I didn't make an issue of it during my stay, but it affected how comfortable I felt. Checkout on Sunday morning was what really pushed me to write this. The blonde woman and another woman at the front desk were sitting on the lobby couch and chair, gossiping and using their phones. They didn't get up to properly check me out, just told me to leave my keys on the counter. I left feeling like a burden, and the unprofessional service was very disappointing. Guests shouldn't be made to feel that way. I expected better care. I wish the room's cleanliness and the customer service had matched the other reviews I'd read. If I'd known this was what the hotel was really like, I would've stayed somewhere else. The place could be a much better experience if those things improve.

The dirty chair was the first thing I noticed after checking in. Its cushion had several dark stains that looked old, and it made the whole room feel unclean and poorly maintained. When you're trying to rest, especially when you're already feeling unwell, that's a rough welcome. Check-in also left a bad impression. A red-headed woman at the desk, whose name I don't remember, was sitting with her feet up and shoes off, looking at her phone. She didn't seem willing to get up and help, and I felt like I was bothering her just by being there. Between that and the state of the room, I was really disappointed. I expected much better.

The staff were amazing and checked in with us each day during our three-night stay to see if we needed anything. Our room was clean and had two beds, a mini fridge, and a microwave. The hotel was full every night, but we couldn't hear anyone outside our room. We'd definitely come back.

We stayed one night with our dog, and this is now our go-to halfway stop on the way to FL. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and we loved having a King bed room on the first floor. We could walk straight from the room to our truck and the dog walking area. Out back, there are picnic tables with a beautiful view. The room had everything we needed, including a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. If you can't find the coffee maker, look in the top cabinet. Ruby Tuesday was an easy walk from the room. The dining room was huge and very clean, with lots of breakfast choices. The scrambled eggs were hot and yummy. We didn't use the pool, but the pool area looked beautiful. It's just off I-40, yet we heard no traffic noise. So glad we found this place!

After driving all day and night, we pulled over and got to the Newport BW around 1:00am. Kathrine was helping another customer, but still acknowledged me as soon as I came in. That small bit of attention means a lot in customer service. She was happy to get us a room and even asked if we'd need a late checkout, which we did. A good attitude at the desk really makes a difference, so thanks again, Kathrine! The room was nice and clean too.
