The afternoon fruit and freshly baked cookies were a welcome treat, and breakfast was good too. We found the staff helpful and friendly. It’s just a few blocks from downtown and the waterfront, with plenty to see and do nearby. A nicely done B&B in Newport’s former jailhouse.

The building used to be the town jail before it was renovated, and it’s a beautiful historic property. It’s close to everything in town, with free parking. Our room was spacious and clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly and full of helpful information. I’d highly recommend staying here.

We stayed for one night in May and had an early arrival. They let us leave the car in the lot while we walked to the newly re-opened International Tennis Hall of Fame. When we got back, we were able to pick up our key and go into the room. It was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and everyone was gracious. We walked to The Moring for dinner, which was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was just what we needed before driving home. We’ll definitely return.

On our road trip through the northeast, this was easily my brother’s and my favorite stay. Parking on the property was simple, and from there you can walk to almost anywhere downtown. Everyone we met was welcoming and extremely nice. The rooms were clean and nice, and the beds were very comfortable. I definitely recommend it and plan to return.
