Money Saver Motel

The only thing I missed in the room was a broom and dustpan. The floor isn’t carpeted, and sand built up fast. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay, and we’ll definitely come back. My sister and I were there on a girls’ trip. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the shower’s hot water was amazing. Staff were friendly, and we felt safe. The beach is under a five-minute walk, but there are lots of stairs, so it may not work if you can’t manage them. The bay front is less than ten minutes away on foot. We were at the back of the building, across from the hospital, but it wasn’t very busy or loud. The front is beside a busy road, though I don’t think that side would have bothered us much. There was no coffee maker in the room, but Dutch brothers and a Chevron are across the street, with crosswalks to get there.

The outside looked pretty run-down, but inside the room was clearly remodeled recently and was just right: no smells or stains, lots of outlets and lights, and great value for what we paid. We booked at the last minute to add a night to our beach trip, and it was the cheapest room we could find. The man at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and the area didn’t seem unsafe. The beach is only a five-minute walk away. Highway noise is the one thing to keep in mind. It didn’t bother me, but I can see it being hard with young kids. I’d stay here again.

I kept passing over this motel because its name seemed kind of weird, but we decided to give it a try. The rooms are really nice, and the bed was comfortable enough. The floor could use a better cleaning, but everything else was great, including the hot shower. You can hear the road, though it wasn’t loud enough to keep us awake. We’d definitely stay here again if we needed a place to sleep around there.

For the price, especially since we just needed somewhere to sleep after being out all day, it was hard to beat. I’d stay again. It’s a cheap, clean hotel near everything Newport has to offer, and the rooms have been recently remodeled. Ours had a big mini-fridge with a freezer, a large TV, and a desk. The bed was reasonably comfortable. I prefer carpet, since sand from the beach stuck to my feet on the hard floor. The shower pressure was erratic, going from full blast to weak, then ice cold and back to hot, before eventually settling down. Our room faced the back, across from the hospital.
