Pastel Sunset at Agate Beach by RedAwning

We only stayed one night during our coastal road trip, and wished we’d gotten there early enough to enjoy the property longer. The room was clean, with a very comfortable queen bed, a full kitchen, living room, dining table, and a very tiny shower. There’s a Tesla charger on site. The ocean views were lovely and it was quiet. The motel’s own beach stairs are out of service, but public stairs right by the yard gate were even closer. Our patio was too far north for a sunset view, though a short walk or drive up the street would have done the trick. We’ll come back and stay longer.

Waking up to the sound of waves and taking a quiet walk on the beach below made this a great place to stay. The lighthouse and tide pools are also just a quick drive away. The staff were thoughtful and made sure we had what we needed. The location is hard to beat. I’d recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

We stayed two nights in March 2024 and found the unit wonderfully quiet, which made the whole visit restful. Having coffee at the table while looking out over the ocean was a lovely way to start the day. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking dinner except the food, of course. Newport is only one and a half miles away, and Depot Bay is about 8 miles away. We enjoyed both and would definitely return.

We had a peaceful stay at Agate Beach Motel, with a well-kept property and beautiful coastal views. Our room was spotless, pet-friendly, and had a properly equipped kitchen that made cooking easy. EV charging was a convenient extra. We were welcomed warmly when we arrived, and my furry friend felt right at home. I’d highly recommend it for a quiet getaway with the comforts of home.
