Sandpoint Hotel & Suites Downtown

We got to choose which building we wanted, and check-in and checkout were super easy. The location is great, with downtown an easy walk away. The rooms were clean and roomy, and I liked the extra sink. Water pressure was decent. I’m giving it 4 stars because the plumbing through the walls was really loud and would wake me up. It might be less of an issue on the upper floors. Good value for the price, and I’d stay again and recommend it.

The staff we dealt with were really warm and friendly, and the view was lovely. The manager also comped one night after our maintenance problems went unresolved during the stay. They tried to make things right, but it came too late to help while we were there. We could hear people next door talking and watching TV as if they were in our room, the walls are that thin. Breakfast was mostly carbs and sugar, with Greek yogurt and hard-boiled eggs as the only protein. I also noticed no security: a car sat with its engine running for at least the 10 hours we saw it. We told the front desk, but they said they couldn't do anything. I felt bad for whoever was in that car.

The rooms have been renovated and feel comfortable, and there’s a nice indoor hot tub area. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast is a simple grab-and-go setup. The location is the real draw, it’s the only hotel within walking distance of downtown bars and restaurants.

We were traveling with pets, and this clean, budget-friendly place met our needs. The location was great, too.
