Raven House Alaska

We slept well in the comfortable yurt and would definitely come back. The shared lounge was nice, with a kitchen, TV, showers, and restroom, and there was a deck where you could relax, enjoy the view, or BBQ. The area is beautiful, and being close to Homer AK is a big plus. There was a little traffic noise, though, and the plants around the porta potty by the yurts could be cleared back more. Still, it was a nice experience.

We had booked two Yurt's for our group in January, then the Ferry service strike threw our whole trip into a different shape and we had to rearrange everything at short notice. The Raven House owners were a pleasure to deal with. Even though the policy says there are no refunds, they heard what had happened and decided to help us out. I’d highly recommend them and hope we can stay there sometime in the future.

We chose this place based on Hotels.Com reviews, and they were WRONG! The reservation was supposed to be only a hold, but they took all the money up front. Hotels.com acknowledged that, but couldn’t return our money since it was the middle person. They were pretty good and gave us a credit. We never stayed. The place was extremely dirty, and my wife and daughter didn’t even want to sit down. The manager, who said the owner was out of state, seemed very unusual and told us she’d cleaned the whole place with Pinesol. It was bizarre. We took a bunch of pictures and left after 15 minutes. We still haven’t gotten our money back, though it’s under dispute with Capital One. The room dimensions and amenities were also misrepresented.

Andrew was friendly and helpful, and we’re looking forward to staying again. Our first time trying a yert, and we loved it. We usually camp in tents, so this felt like a buff tent 😁. The beds were really comfy, and having a wood stove in the room was lovely. It’s set far enough back from the road that we couldn’t hear traffic.
