Super 8 by Wyndham St. Petersburg

I’d lost everything and needed somewhere to get my life back on track when I stayed here about two months ago. Assistant manager Tylor helped me find work nearby and even gave me two Lyft rides so I could get to the job. He recommended me when I needed help most. I’m so grateful for his kindness, and hope the universe brings him abundance and prosperity.

Three hours after we checked in, we found cockroaches everywhere: in the bed, bathroom, and near the TV. Nobody expects to find those living conditions, so we checked out and asked for our money back. We were told the refund would go through Expedia, but Expedia support said only the hotel could issue it. In the end, we got no money back, the service was terrible, and they even misled us about the refund. Expedia's official email clearly says the hotel refused to issue one. If you want to lose money and live with cockroaches, this hotel is for you.

There was a bit of a roach problem, though that can happen when lots of guests are staying long term. Still, I’d stay here again without a doubt. The room was very comfortable, and the bed was fantastic. The air-conditioning wasn't the best, but it worked well enough for one night.

We noticed damp spots around the room and there were small roaches inside, too. By the end of the stay, both of us were very sick. On the first night, a really strong bleach-like smell came through the vents and drowned out every other smell. We woke up coughing and sneezing, then went about our day. The next night there was no strong bleach smell, so we didn't ask to switch rooms, thinking it would be fine. But we couldn't sleep through the night, waking several times with coughing, sneezing, and allergy-like symptoms. We also woke up to what looked like a crime scene on the second morning. MOLD!!!!! I stayed two nights and left feeling this place was dangerous, unsafe, and a health hazard. If that's what you're looking for, you've come to the right place.
