Siesta Motel

The value was amazing, and it’s just a short walk to the border and shopping. The staff went out of their way to be courteous and keep things in good shape, and housekeeping did a fantastic job. There really wasn’t anything to complain about. It was very clean, though it could use some TLC and maintenance.

Update: About an hour after I posted this, $34 was mysteriously deposited back into my account. 🧐 I was quoted $63 for the night plus a $20 deposit, agreed, and gave my card. That adds up to $83, so why did my bank statement show charges of $95 and $20? I didn’t catch it until I’d left. At checkout, the same woman who checked me in returned the deposit, but when I got home I saw she’d also charged another $20. The receipt she gave me showed completely different amounts from what I was actually charged. I don’t live far, so I’ll head back in the next couple of days to get my money back instead of calling. Don’t stay here!

It’s a motel, not a hotel, but the staff are superb, helpful, and accommodating. Since our stay in April, they’ve updated the room, and it was much better this time. The beds were new and very comfortable.

I booked through their website, which still showed rooms available and let me make a reservation. When I arrived, the place was closed down. The phone number didn’t work and there was nobody to contact, so I had to scramble to find somewhere else for the nights I’d booked. I’m highly disappointed.
