Holiday Inn Express & Suites Nokomis Sarasota South by IHG

The breakfast was the highlight for me. There was an automatic pancake maker, warm cinnamon rolls, eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, fruit, and bakery options, so there was something for everyone. Lobby coffee was always hot and available, too. The rooms were really nice and clean, with upgraded appliances, and the pool and workout room were clean and well kept. The staff were nice, and I had no complaints. I stayed at Hampton Inn last time I visited and was disappointed, even though I usually like it. I'll stay here from now on.

We enjoyed the hotel and its location so much that we added a third night after originally booking two. The GM was extremely welcoming, and her beautiful smile made our whole family feel comfortable right away. One inconvenience was the electricity in the room. With the lights, fridge, and chargers on, using the microwave cut the power. Maybe it's meant to save energy, but I needed to heat food for my child and had to switch everything else off to do it. Aside from that, everything was great.

The hotel is practically new, from 2024, and we would stay again if we needed to. Our room was clean and practical, with good hot and cold water and strong pressure. Breakfast ran from 6:30 to 9:30 am and was enough to get the morning started. Coffee is only available in the lobby, not in the rooms. Nokomis public beach gets busy around sunset during the season, with lots of traffic, but you could walk there instead of driving. From the moment we arrived, check-in went perfectly.

We liked the hotel and its location, and the room was nice. There are two speedy elevators, which was convenient, and breakfast was good. The front desk woman on the evening shift until 11 pm on Oct 13 and 14 was wonderful. I’m sorry I can’t remember her name. She gave us dining reservations and diving information, and even found a box for my meg tooth. We loved her and would definitely stay again while diving in Venice Beach.
