Pancho at the front desk made a strong first impression. He welcomed me, comped an appetizer at Saltgrass, explained where to get soft drinks and towels, and let me know the pool wouldn't open until 6P because the water had been treated. David was at the desk last evening, too, and showed quality professional courtesy. My upstairs room had older furniture, but it was well kept, and the bed was inviting. The microwave, fridge, and coffee maker were clean; the bathroom was sanitized and had toiletries and a hairdryer. The closet was tidy, with a luggage rack, iron and board, and wood hangers. Nice TV, plus a Gideon Bible in the drawer. The AC fan runs a little hard, though the room stays comfortable. There's a laundry room and a very small fitness room, and the pool is “open.” Breakfast had fried eggs, sausage patties, waffles, bread, cereals, selected fruits, orange juice, water, and coffee. For cooked to order, you'd pay $150 more at Embassy Suites. Nice restaurants are right by the hotel.

The jacuzzi was the one good part, and I paid extra for it. The room was shabby, the carpet dingy, and the AC painfully loud. The door card only worked about every 3rd or 4th try, and the place reeked of pot. The indoor pool was closed. Breakfast was initially a mess: waffles and dollar store muffins, but no bread for the toaster, bagels, milk, or cereal. I thought we'd leave after one of our two nights if they'd refund the second. We ended up staying so we wouldn't have to move all our stuff. The next morning there was a full breakfast, which I appreciated. The eggs and sausage were hot and good, with bread, cereal, and fruit out too. Good to know someone reads these things.

We couldn't find anyone at the front desk during our stay, and the key cards failed 99% of the time. The beds sagged and were very uncomfortable. The hotel also needs a lot of repairs: in room 215, the toilet seat needed replacing, the light fixtures needed attention, and the shower rod needed repair. Breakfast was the worst I've had at a hotel. I wasn't expecting a home-cooked meal, but something edible would've been a bonus. If you're a coffee person, don't bother with it here.

The breakfast was fresh, with fresh eggs, simple but effective. Night and morning staff were both super friendly. I wish I could rate it 4 and a half, or 4.75, just shy of 5 stars.

We had a clean, really comfortable room. It was perfect for us, and we'll definitely stay here again!
