Quality Inn & Suites Norman Near University

The staff were great and helped with everything I needed, but the hotel itself was in bad shape. I run a landscaping business, and the landscaping was one of the first things I noticed needed work. The rooms looked like they hadn't been updated in a long time, and the lobby was very warm. When I asked, they said the A/C wasn't working either. The property needs care; it doesn't look like the owners care about it.

My stay at Quality Inn & Suites Norman, OK, May 12-14, was in the worst room I've ever seen. I contacted management, but never got a satisfactory response. The sheets and beds were dirty and stained, and the room was noisy. The coffee maker, lamps, and bathtub were broken. A leak in the bathroom soaked the room carpets, while humidity covered the ceiling and walls and left a terrible smell. The odor was so strong and penetrating that we had to wash all our clothes, even the ones we hadn't worn, and our luggage too. The A/C didn't work, and the internet signal was intermittent or absent.

For a short weekend, it was a nice experience. The room was decent, the staff were nice, and there was a great range of breakfast choices. But without the sign, I wouldn't have known the breakfast hours, and staff didn't give much information. At checkout we also had to wait for the luggage cart because someone else was using the only one. The place isn't very big, but surely managing two carts can't be that hard.

The walls are thin enough that I could hear the people next door sneeze, shower, and talk. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The room was very clean apart from a hand towel left on the curtain rod by previous guests, and the tub didn't look properly cleaned.
