Americas Best Value Inn Extended Stay

I never stayed in the room, but my card was charged as though I had. I booked online at Magnuson Extended Stay in Canton Ohio earlier this year, then found out the room wasn’t available because it had been under construction for weeks. I turned down the more expensive substitute and cancelled the booked room as required, then stayed somewhere else. The hotel says it issued a refund, but weeks later I still haven’t received a dime.

We moved here from Florida and paid two weeks in advance, planning to keep paying every two weeks. I explained that we were moving and that my elderly veteran grandfather was with us. We’d been there less than three days when they gave our room away and put us out in the cold with nowhere to go. My grandpa needs medication, and this is the only hotel that accepts mail. Stay away unless you want your family left out in the cold and potentially in danger.

We’re staying here while waiting for emergency housing, and it’s been a really pleasant experience. The rooms are huge, bigger than most apartments, and housekeeping and maintenance respect your space. They were accommodating when we asked to replace the TV because of a small dent in the corner. It’s not comparable to a $100-200-a-night place, but if you’re not picky, it’s a great stay.

For what it costs, this is a good place. Cleanliness could be a lot better, though. Our AC and heat didn’t work, but they brought us heaters.
