Courtyard Canton

This has happened twice now: they charged the wrong card, and this time it caused my account to bounce. It really messed me up. I travel a lot and have stayed here often, but I won’t use this hotel again.

There’s no breakfast or even a voucher, despite our being ambassador-level Marriott travelers. The woman at the front desk was very emphatic about that, so we went up the road for breakfast. The hotel feels tired and needs renovation. The tub in our room was rusting, the sofa cushions were torn, hallway ceiling tiles were damaged, and wallpaper was peeling by the elevator. It must have been a great place when it was built, but I’ll look for a newer hotel next time I’m in the area.

Our room had a separate bedroom and living room, and there was plenty of space, but the bed was uncomfortable. The bedroom stayed cold while the living room was hot, with the thermostat in a poor spot. Shower pressure was very weak, and the water kept shifting between hot and cold. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

There’s plenty of shopping and dining nearby, and the hotel sits on a quiet dead-end street. The staff were friendly, and my room was clean and quiet. The place is in decent shape, even if it isn’t new.
