Crossroads Inn - Downtown Sacramento

Very nice hotel, cheap and good. I’ve been staying here for a couple of days, and when I come back they always put my stuff on the bed or table without asking. The rooms are clean. Totally recommend it.

I stayed four nights last week for GoldenSky Festival because the venue was within walking distance. The bed and bathtub were clean, but that was about the best of it. The smoke alarm was missing even though its electrical hookup was there. Every dresser handle was loose, with screws nearly falling out, and the bathroom doorknob was nearly coming off too. There was thick dirt on top of the headboard and some outlet covers. We got only a quarter roll of toilet paper, which ran out the first night, and just one washcloth. I left around noon each day and put the maid service sign out, but housekeeping never came. The toilet made a loud vibrating noise for about 20 seconds near the end of refilling after a flush. My car got a little scratch on the rear bumper in the lot, with white paint on it that wiped off. The spaces were only about eight inches wider than a Toyota Corolla, so I was worried about the car getting hit again. Breakfast was advertised as free, but the lobby door stayed locked and you had to be buzzed in. When I asked about coffee, they told me to go to the nearest gas station. I won’t be back. Next time I’ll stay farther down Jibboom St at a better hotel with better facilities and parking.

The price was very reasonable, parking was easy, and the front desk service was nice. It’s right by the freeway and easy to reach from downtown, so the location couldn’t be better. The bed was high quality and comfortable. This is my new favorite Sac motel.

The room we were first given had a broken AC unit that smelled strongly of mold, making it unbearable. We asked to switch and got another room that was just as bad, if not worse. The microwave and fridge were visibly grimy, with food residue, several drawers were unusable, and the walls and ceilings were stained. The room and its amenities were far below basic cleanliness standards and felt neglected and unsafe. Management responded rudely when we raised the problems. Instead of trying to fix anything, they told us to “just stay at a hotel across the street” if we didn’t like it. That dismissive response made an already awful stay even worse. We didn’t get the service we paid for. This place is way overpriced for how nasty it is, and it doesn’t have WiFi or breakfast as advertised when booking. No guest should be treated this way. I’d give zero stars if I could. We’ll never book here again, and I have nothing good to say about the place or staff. Authorities or review platforms should look into the conditions here.
