Best Western Airport Inn & Suites

I stay here for work every other week and will keep choosing it. Management and staff are always friendly and helpful, and the rooms are quiet and very nice. The pool is great. I see the pool company come by, and the water is always clean and just right. Breakfast is always hot and fresh with a good selection.

We’re sharing what happened at Comfort Inn & Suites North Charleston - Northwoods so other travelers know about our experience. We hope the hotel improves how it handles these situations and treats its guests. We booked a suite for five because the photos showed three beds. On arrival, we were given a standard room connected to another room. That night we asked the front desk whether both rooms were included in our reservation. Staff told us we could use the other room and that they would note it in the system. We relied on that information in good faith. The next day, when we came back from work, an employee named Tony approached us aggressively and humiliatingly. He demanded that we leave without hearing our explanation, even though we’d confirmed the arrangement with the desk the previous night. We believe people who treat guests in such an inhumane way shouldn’t work in customer service. The job calls for respect, empathy, and proper training. We work hard and were traveling for work, and we paid for a service that wasn’t delivered as advertised. Instead of trying to clear up the misunderstanding, we were accused and treated disrespectfully. Customer service should involve communication and respect, especially when hotel staff caused the confusion.

The staff were friendly, but seemed to do only what was necessary. They did fix the door lock, which was close to falling off. Still, this was the worst Comfort Inn we’ve stayed at. We arrived late Friday evening, checked in, and found the third floor smelled strongly of weed. Hot water was mostly unavailable, and the rear outdoor lights shone into the room all night, making sleep difficult. Road noise was VERY LOUD, and the bedside lamps had bare bulbs with no shades. There were cobwebs where the ceiling met the walls. The rooms were old and only somewhat clean; some outlets had no covers or were extremely loose. Breakfast was just adequate, and loud people were around every night.

The service at Comfort Inn & Suites was terrible from beginning to end. The staff seemed unprepared, showed no courtesy, and had no clear interest in helping. I was also shocked by how the hotel treated people who aren’t American. It felt prejudiced and xenophobic, and left us feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. A business serving the public should respect guests equally regardless of nationality. This hotel did the opposite. I don’t recommend it and won’t return.
