The staff made a great impression right away. We arrived shortly after 5 and, when I asked about the hot tub rooms, the front desk clerk offered us a good deal on one for our two nights. I hadn't even known those suites were available. We spent a snowy evening soaking in the tub by the big window and watching the storm come down. Breakfast was good too, with cereal, eggs, sausage, and waffles you make yourself. The place has an old-fashioned, cozy charm rather than a modern feel, which I loved. It worked perfectly as a base: north of Conway, so away from the congestion but still close enough to get into town quickly. I've already told several friends about it, and I'm planning to come back this summer.

It was a comfortable, warm place for a couple of nights, and the price and cleanliness made it work well for a short stay. The mountain view is nice, though it looks across the parking lot and highway. North Conway is a short drive away, but there isn't anywhere to walk to for food. The hill into the lot is steep; 4WD was fine, and there's a flatter entrance farther down the road that could help in snow. The free breakfast included waffles, sausage, scrambled egg circles, pastries, bread, bagels, muffins, yogurt, coffee, and juice. They were careful not to put out too much, which avoids waste, but my wife and I only got one sausage link each one morning. It would've been nice if there were enough for one serving per person. Our room was clean but dated, small, and a bit cave-like, with a door and window at one end and the hillside along the other. It had a noisy heater/AC under the window, a small bathroom, fridge, microwave, single-cup coffee maker, table and desk chair, plus an extra chair by the window. For more than one person, there wasn't much room to sit and eat or watch TV. With the curtains open, the exterior door and large window also made privacy feel limited, especially with people walking past during the snowy weekend. Noise from other rooms carried clearly. There seemed to be kids upstairs in new ski boots, and the person next door left the TV on all night once. You can't really prevent that in a hotel, but anyone sensitive to noise might be happier on an upper floor, which could also feel less cave-like. We barely noticed the road most of the time, apart from sirens and fire trucks after a major accident one night. We'd driven past the place lots of times before deciding to give it a try for a couple of nights. It wasn't amazing, but it was a decent, comfortable option for a night or two.

The staff's service was the best part of our stay, and the price felt like a good deal. It's a handy base for exploring around Mount Washington, with clean, cozy rooms and nice views, though the rooms could use updating. Breakfast is basic but filling. They had fruit, fried eggs, sausage, bagels, and waffles. The internet can be weak now and then. I've saved this place for another visit.

There was even a used sanitary pad in the trash beside the toilet. That was the worst of it, but the towels were also dirty, with stains and little glitter-like specks that made them unpleasant to use. The bathroom had hair all over the tiles, and the mirror was smeared so badly it couldn't be used. Dust and cobwebs were everywhere, while the old furniture was worn and the armchair covered in stains. We paid $350 for one night, and the room was among the dirtiest I've seen. Management, if the price is that high, the rooms need to be clean and kept up. This felt neglected and disrespectful to guests. We won't return, and our friends won't either.

At 6:45 in the morning, kids upstairs woke us with running, jumping, and screaming. As parents, we understand children make noise, but it seems families with kids should be placed on the first floor. We were there Friday through Sunday morning, 11/16, for our honeymoon. The first thing we noticed in the room was an overpowering chlorine smell. There were soda marks by the TV, and a loud noise turned out to be the fridge. When we tried the hot tub, two jets weren't working. The first night was okay, but after we'd been out all day Saturday, November 11/15, we came back to find the bed made and some of our things had been touched. We'd booked the room for the weekend, so we wondered why someone had come in.
