The water pressure was great, and my husband slept better than he has in nine years, since his work injury. Check-in was easy, the parking lot was well lit, and the area stayed quiet. I felt fine going to nearby shops, even coming from Miami. If you know El Palacio in Miami, that’s the kind of neighborhood feel. They also spray the hallways, so they don’t smell smoky or raunchy. Dogs stay free, which is a big plus. The staff were a mixed bag. Only two or three seemed happy to be there, including the bartender at the casino. I didn’t get much of a “boss” vibe from the people working at a place called “Jefe.” The property has clearly had some upgrades, and it’s one of the cleanest hood hotels I’ve stayed in, though there’s still room to improve. The big problem was noise. The walls are paper thin, and there are no rugs on the tile floors. We could hear everything next door and upstairs. I’d pick a top-floor room if staying here. There wasn’t any complimentary tea either. The free or discounted coffee was nice, but it was all the way across the casino. Surely they could put out hot water and a few tea bags for people who don’t want to walk through the casino. My kid wanted this on the do-not-rent list. I’ll put it on my no-kids and dog-friendly lists instead. It wasn’t a horrible visit, even with the noise.

I wish I could get my money back. The bathroom was filthy, with a dirty wall that looked like it had blood on it. The old tub had been painted very badly, and there was so much grime on the tile that some pieces were cracked. Walking barefoot, I could have stabbed my toe. The bed was awful and seemed overdue for a new mattress. My third-floor hallway smelled bad, and the front desk staff had an attitude like they hated their jobs. This was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I’d have been better off at Circus Circus, which would have been much cleaner. I would never recommend this place or stay here again.

Apart from one serious problem, it was a good stay. The area felt quiet and safe, and the staff were welcoming. I also spoke with a manager in the morning, who was understanding and very kind. I found a needle in the restroom and took a picture, then told housekeeping and the manager. She apologized, but I was disappointed she didn’t offer a room discount or a full refund. People travel a long way and pay for these rooms; no one should find something like that, especially when it could be a safety risk. What if someone got poked, or a child found it? There could be hepatitis, HIV, AIDS, or something in it that might cause an overdose. It was in plain sight, so I don’t understand how housekeeping missed it. Thankfully, I didn’t have my kids with me. They’re curious and like to climb on things.

Everyone was so kind and reassuring. My pup had an accident in the hallway, and when I tried to clean it up myself, the cleaning staff just giggled a little and told me it was okay. The rooms were really clean, and the staff were wonderful. I didn’t catch the name of the woman at the front desk on the morning of April 9, but you were wonderful. Thanks for making me feel comfortable!

We chose this hotel for a NASCAR race, and the track turned out not to be as far away as we’d expected. Still, I was really worried for my family. People argued in the parking lot and hallways at all hours, the hallways smelled like weed, and it felt like the place attracted riffraff. The room was clean but dated, and the WiFi was so weak it kept kicking us off. Staff seemed okay, though not especially friendly or welcoming. I’d stay closer to the Strip, where the hotels are higher quality. My recommendation is to avoid this place.
